On April 24, Jin10 reported that, according to sources cited by AXIOS, Elon Musk, head of the U.S. government efficiency department (DOGE), and Treasury Secretary Basent had a heated argument last Thursday in the West Wing corridor of the White House over personnel appointments at the IRS. The commotion was so loud that it drew the attention of President Trump and other officials present. One witness said, "Two billionaires, middle-aged men turned the West Wing hall of the White House into a WWE wrestling arena." "They didn't get physical in the Oval Office, but the President witnessed the conflict firsthand. The two then took their argument into the corridor, where they erupted into another heated dispute," said one witness. Last Thursday, Basent confronted Musk during a meeting at the White House, and a source said that shortly after, "F-bombs started flying (profanities were rampant)." Basent criticized Musk for setting budget-cutting promises for DOGE too high without delivering. Musk retorted, calling Basent "Soros's agent" and accusing him of running "a failed hedging fund." Reports state that the argument was so intense that at one point, they were even "chest to chest," and it ultimately ended when an assistant intervened to separate the two.
