Web3 Chinese female entrepreneurship pioneer: The rise of TruBit from 0 to 1
Pioneering Chinese Women Entrepreneurs in the Web3 Field: Continuously Challenging Themselves and Bravely Pursuing Their Dreams
In the thriving Web3 industry, a Chinese female entrepreneur has carved out her own niche in this field full of opportunities and challenges with her courage, wisdom, and perseverance. She is the CEO of TruBit, a serial entrepreneur who constantly challenges herself, and a steadfast promoter of the Web3 industry. Her entrepreneurial journey can be regarded as a remarkable story of struggle, and it is believed to inspire more women to bravely pursue their dreams.
A Serial Entrepreneur Who Constantly Challenges Themselves
The entrepreneurial journey of this female entrepreneur began during her university years. While her classmates were still enjoying campus life, she was already busy interning at various companies, gaining valuable industry experience. In her words: "I knew very early on what I wanted and was willing to give 100% effort for it."
After graduation, she went to the United States to engage in international trade. With her own efforts and intelligence, she successfully earned her first pot of gold in life. However, she was not satisfied with this. She defines herself as a "serial entrepreneur" who enjoys exploring new things, and perhaps it is this curiosity that led to the following story.
From 2008 to 2009, the global economic crisis enveloped the world, plunging countless people into panic. Yet, she saw hope amidst this gloom. While others were afraid and retreating, she keenly captured new opportunities and resolutely entered the investment field. This decision not only changed the trajectory of her life but also laid the groundwork for her future entrepreneurial journey.
In 2017, the wave of blockchain swept in. Through a friend's introduction, she was exposed to Bitcoin. The potential of emerging technology deeply attracted her, so she began to study the blockchain white paper in depth and understand the Ethereum ecosystem. After thorough research and reflection, she firmly believed that the blockchain and Web3 industry contained enormous development potential, and decisively devoted herself to it, establishing a fund dedicated to investing in digital assets.
This may confirm the saying "opportunity always favors the prepared." Due to her extensive exposure to various cryptocurrency exchanges during her investment journey and her deep understanding and accumulation of knowledge about these exchanges, she saw the opportunity for the development of crypto finance in Latin America during a subsequent market research trip, which led her to embark on the entrepreneurial journey of TruBit.
From international trade to the investment sector, and then firmly diving into the Web3 industry, each of her transformations seems bold, yet also showcases her personality trait of constantly challenging herself.
When asked why she enjoys continuously challenging herself and defines herself as a "serial entrepreneur," she naturally replied: "Perhaps it's in my nature; I inherently love exploring new possibilities."
Perhaps influenced by her family environment, she has been curious about the business world since childhood. During a summer vacation in elementary school, she tried to do some small trading and experienced the logic of buying low and selling high at an early age. She smiled and said: "I hope to not only go from 0 to 1, but also to continuously challenge myself, break boundaries, and achieve from 1 to 10000."
The Rise of TruBit: Adhering to Compliance and Diversified Team Management
The story of TruBit is like an adventure filled with surprises and challenges, with both accidental sparks and inevitable perseverance.
During a chance inspection of the Latin American market, she keenly captured a huge opportunity. The Latin American market faces issues such as inflation, currency instability, and a large population without bank accounts, making it exceptionally difficult to obtain fiat currencies like the US dollar. The decentralized nature and convenient transactions of digital currencies provide solutions to these problems. She instantly realized that this market holds infinite possibilities and was determined to embark on a new entrepreneurial journey here.
Thus, she unhesitatingly plunged into the Latin American market and founded TruBit—a compliant digital currency platform. This platform not only encompasses digital currency trading but also extends to various application scenarios such as payments, providing services for both B-end and C-end clients, and is committed to bringing more convenient and efficient financial solutions to the local market.
TruBit has become a bold attempt for her in the Web3 field. She said with great anticipation: "Our vision has never changed; we hope to promote the popularization and application of blockchain technology, making it truly integrated into mainstream society and creating broader value."
"Compliance operation" is the fundamental requirement that she set for TruBit from the very beginning. However, the compliance of cryptocurrency-related businesses in Latin America is almost an untried endeavor. Regulatory agencies have very little knowledge of such emerging businesses and are unsure how to regulate them.
The more difficult part is that the process of obtaining a license is long and arduous. From preparing the materials to communicating with the regulatory authorities, each step requires a significant amount of time and effort. During this process, issues such as financial pressure and team management also arise one after another. Many companies choose to give up when faced with these difficulties, but she did not. With firm belief and tenacious willpower, she led the team to persevere. After three years of effort, they finally obtained the first compliant operating license for digital currency in Mexico.
"Persistence is the key to our success," she concluded. "In this process, I not only learned how to communicate with people from different cultural backgrounds, but also honed my ability to stay focused and move forward amidst challenges and uncertainties."
The team members of TruBit come from different countries and cultural backgrounds, including Mexicans, Americans, Chinese, Argentinians, Brazilians, and more. How to lead such a diverse team is another important challenge she faces.
"First is respect, respecting the culture and customs of each country." She said, "We cannot manage everyone with one model, but should adapt to local conditions, understand the ways of thinking in different cultural contexts, and establish a foundation of mutual trust and cooperation."
At the same time, she also focuses on selecting talents that match the company's philosophy. During the recruitment process, she conducts multiple rounds of interviews and tests, assessing not only the candidates' professional abilities but also their learning abilities, teamwork skills, tolerance for different cultures, and whether they agree with the company's values. She hopes that team members can all be proactive, continue to learn, and grow together with the company. Under her leadership, although the TruBit team is not large, each member is outstanding, able to stand alone as well as collaborate closely to drive the company's growth and innovation.
Currently, TruBit is focusing on applying digital currency and blockchain technology to the field of cross-border payments. "We see the enormous potential of digital currency in cross-border payments, as it can effectively address many pain points of traditional payment methods," she said. "Our goal is to provide businesses with efficient and low-cost cross-border payment solutions."
TruBit is currently focusing on B-end customers. It believes that the demand for digital currencies in the B-end market is enormous. In Latin America, companies have primarily relied on SWIFT for cross-border payments, but this method not only takes 5-7 days for funds to arrive, but also incurs costs typically reaching 2%-3%, leaving companies with few better options. TruBit, leveraging a professional team and compliant operations, offers a more efficient and cost-effective solution, with funds usually arriving within minutes to tens of minutes, and transaction costs below 1%.
At the same time, TruBit is also continuously expanding its C-end market. For Latin American immigrants in the United States, cross-border remittances used to rely mainly on Western Union, which not only had high fees and slow speeds but also required operations at physical outlets. Now, they can complete transfers through TruBit at a lower cost and faster speed. In addition, TruBit serves B-end customers, indirectly reaching more C-end users through a B2B2C model, allowing more people to enjoy more efficient and inclusive cross-border payment services, making the application of digital currency truly integrated into everyday financial scenarios.
"Her" Power Awakens: Leading a New Journey for Women Entrepreneurs
As a female leader who has achieved certain results in the Web3 industry, she has a deep understanding of the role of women in this field. "It's amazing that more and more women are joining this industry!" she said excitedly, "Although this industry is still male-dominated, the proportion of women is gradually increasing, which gives me hope."
She believes that women starting businesses in the Web3 industry are like walking on a rugged mountain road, with both beautiful scenery and difficult challenges. "Women are often more resilient than men and can handle pressure better," she said. "We don't easily say give up, even if the road ahead is full of thorns, we will find ways to persevere." She also mentioned that women tend to have a strong sense of risk awareness and are less likely to take risks. "This to some extent protects us from some major risks, but it can also lead us to miss some opportunities," she remarked.
Women may face more difficulties in obtaining investment and resources. She recalled that at some high-end industry events, she was often one of the few women present and sometimes even encountered scrutiny from others with a biased perspective. "People often judge my abilities based on my appearance and gender, ignoring my professional qualifications and achievements." She paused, but then said firmly: "But I believe women should not shrink back because of this; instead, they should work even harder to prove themselves."
When talking about female role models, she pondered for a long time. She believes that a true role model is not just someone who has achieved success in business, but more importantly, someone who can have a profound impact on society and the future of humanity, and inspire others on a spiritual level. "In fact, there are many excellent female role models in this world, and everyone has something worth learning from. For me, the key is not gender, but the wisdom, courage, and influence they demonstrate," she said.
She firmly believes that outstanding female leaders share some common traits, such as resilience, ambition, and knowledge. "These traits enable us to persevere in the face of difficulties, set higher goals, and solve problems with knowledge," she said. "But everyone has their own unique experiences and personalities, and these experiences and personalities ultimately shape our unique selves."
For young women who want to enter the Web3 industry, she has many suggestions. She emphasizes that first, they should clarify their goals and understand what kind of person they want to become. Before entering this industry, they should conduct in-depth research and understanding of the industry and develop a clear career plan. She also reminds young women to carefully choose job and internship opportunities. When submitting resumes, they should consider whether the job can enhance their skills and whether it aligns with their career plan.
She is confident about the future of women's power. "I believe that as more and more women join this industry, the power of women will be seen by more people," she said. "Not only can we succeed in this industry, but we can also bring unique perspectives and values to it."
Her story is a brilliant bloom of women in the Web3 industry and a powerful interpretation of "her" strength.
