According to a report by Golden Finance and The Information, Anthropic cut off OpenAI's access to Claude via the application programming interface (API) on Friday. An Anthropic spokesperson stated that the move was due to OpenAI using our coding tools prior to the release of GPT-5, which violates Anthropic's terms of service. These terms prohibit the use of Anthropic's AI technology to develop competitive AI models.
