Do Kwon, the co-founder of Terra Morphological Labs, will be extradited and detained for up to six months in Montenegro. A court will decide whether to extradite him to South Korea, where he is wanted for his involvement in a massive crypto fraud. The United States is also seeking his extradition on various charges, including securities fraud and market manipulation.
Kwon and his former chief financial officer, Han Jung-joon, were arrested at Podgorica airport in March when they tried to fly to Dubai with fake travel documents. They have been living in Serbia after the Terra ecosystem collapsed in May 2022, causing up to $40 billion in damages. They will stand trial in Montenegro on June 16 on charges of falsifying documents.
Quanjian is also under investigation by the Special State Attorney's Office for alleged ties to local politician Milojko Spajic. Kwon claimed in a letter to several officials ahead of the recent election in Montenegro that he had contacted Spajic, now the leader of the European Party. Spajic has denied any connection to Quan, but their possible relationship and financial dealings have been widely reported in the media.
