Golden Finance reported that a report released by blockchain analysis company TRM Labs on Wednesday showed that cryptocurrency criminals have switched from Bitcoin to other cryptocurrencies. In 2022, at least $7.8 billion was withdrawn from victims by cryptocurrency Ponzi schemes. Over $9 billion in cryptocurrency was sent in 2022 to addresses associated with various frauds and scams, including Ponzi schemes. This fraud most often uses USDT, which is based on the Tron blockchain.

Various DeFi exploits have cost attackers $3.7 billion, including $2 billion stolen from cross-chain bridges, and about $1.5 billion that went to darknet markets selling illegal drugs.
