According to PANews news on July 11, according to Crowdfund Insider, the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) issued a statement stating that it is cracking down on unauthorized cryptocurrency ATMs in the UK. The FCA said it had investigated 34 sites in the UK since the start of the year, often in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies. So far, 26 crypto ATMs have been shut down during 2023. In May and June, the FCA, South West Regional Organized Crime Unit, Bedfordshire Police, Hertfordshire Police and the Metropolitan Police inspected 18 locations across the UK suspected of operating cryptocurrency ATMs.
