Infosys, India's second largest software services exporter, said on Monday that it has signed an agreement with existing customers to provide artificial intelligence (AI) and automation services for a period of five years, IT House reported on July 18. In 2009, target expenditures were estimated at US$ 2 billion. The agreement includes development, modernization and maintenance services related to artificial intelligence and automation, the company said in an exchange filing. However, the company did not disclose the name of the customer. The move by Infosys comes after rival Tata Consultancy Services said it planned to train 25,000 engineers to become certified in Microsoft Azure Open AI. Other rivals such as Wipro plan to invest $1 billion in AI over the next three years.
