Odaily Planet Daily News Sendi Young, managing director of Ripple Europe, said that the company "recently" applied to the UK Financial Market Conduct Authority (FCA) to register as an encrypted asset company and applied for a payment institution license in Ireland.

Young declined to reveal the numerical goals of Ripple's growth plans in the U.K. and Europe, but confirmed that the company is still increasing headcount and hiring for roles other than mission-critical.
Over the past 18 months, Ripple has increased its headcount in the UK and Europe by around 75%, and currently has more than 100 of its roughly 900 employees globally, based in offices in London, Dublin and Reykjavik, Iceland.
Young said Ripple's stance on the U.S. as its global hub "has not changed," but added that in the roughly two years since the U.S. SEC filed the lawsuit, most of the company's expansion "has occurred outside the U.S." She also said: "I just hope that the US business will pick up now and grow significantly. Having said that, we are global, with more than 15 offices around the world. (DLNews)
