Jinse Finance reported that the California Fair Political Practice Commission has updated its campaign disclosure manual to include detailed rules for reporting cryptocurrency donations. These updates include campaign contribution limits, limited liability company (LLC) disclosure requirements, delegated payment reporting, cryptocurrency donations, excessive donations, advertising disclosure requirements, and other nonsubstantial technical changes.

According to the guidelines, political committees can solicit cryptocurrencies as non-monetary donations, subject to certain requirements. Cryptocurrency donations are subject to applicable restrictions and may not accept donations from foreign consignors, lobbyists or anonymous sources. Commissions are also prohibited from receiving cryptocurrency donations directly in peer-to-peer transactions. Cryptocurrency donations can be received through payment processors selected as vendors representing the committee.
