Jinse Finance reported that MakerDAO co-founder Rune Christensen said that the platform’s future native blockchain should be built using a code base that supports Solana (SOL), a network designed to provide high-speed performance. In a governance forum post, he said the codebase's "technical quality," its "resilience after the FTX crash," and already-running examples make Solana "the most promising codebase to explore further."

However, some community members have pushed back against Christensen's idea, demanding more information about his research or proposing other solutions.
Christensen explained in the post that the final stage of the plan will be to launch a custom blockchain (temporarily codenamed NewChain) to connect all SubDAOs, saying that NewChain is a "significant long-term project that will probably take at least 3 years."
