Tangem mini program obtains VISA certification and will launch self-hosted payment solution

Tangem said its monthly active users have grown 738% since the product was launched last year.

In a press statement on September 8, the Tangem applet obtained VISA certification and is preparing to launch a self-hosted payment solution.

The Switzerland-based cryptocurrency company revealed that its mini program received VISA certification the previous year, which enables users to use Tangem Pay, which will be launched next year.

Integrating the VISA payment card chip with the Tangem applet allows the card to securely store the public and private keys of cryptocurrency wallets.

In fact, when these cards are used to pay, they can generate VISA payment messages. At the same time, an OTP (one-time password) was developed to sign transactions on the blockchain.

The company says the novel app, which will launch next year, will be "the first fully self-hosted payments solution integrated with a global payment network."

Tangem function upgrade

Meanwhile, the company's partnership is part of an effort to completely redesign its app and add new features to improve user experience.

Tangem has launched a slew of new features, including token sorting, a dark theme, and giving users the option to hide their available balances. Additionally, the company announced enhancements to its brand style guide, updated logo, and redesigned cards and packaging.

To enhance firmware security, Tangem plans to introduce a firmware auditing feature that will allow users to verify the integrity of the firmware. They are also preparing to launch a new product page on September 10th with 24/7 customer support.

Additionally, Tangem confirmed that from October 10, its cards will be distributed to more than 140 countries via warehouses in Europe, the United States and Hong Kong.

Tangem has become a top challenger in the hardware wallet space, rivaling more legendary competitors like Trezor and Ledger. The company said it has seen a 738% increase in monthly active users since its latest product launch last year and believes its planned upgrades will help attract more global customers.
