Odaily Planet Daily reported that NRL player Trevor Lawrence, Youtube celebrities Kevin Paffrath and Tom Nash chose to settle with FTX investors after investors accused them of insufficient disclosure of FTX’s marketing remuneration and content, but the specific settlement terms were not disclosed.
These three people are also the first to complete the settlement in the FTX class action lawsuit. Other people subject to the class action include American football player Tom Brady, Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen, investor Kevin O'Leary, former NBA star Shaquille O'Neal, tennis star Naomi Osaka and former Boston Red Sox player David Ortiz.
On September 11, a court filing revealed that FTX was considering how to recover marketing compensation paid to star athletes and sports teams that promoted the crypto exchange before it went bankrupt in November 2022. (Cointelegraph)
