Lawmaker Challenges SEC's Gensler on Whether Pokémon Cards Are Securities



During a House Financial Services Committee meeting, SEC Chair Gary Gensler stated that a Pokémon card purchased at a retail store is not considered a security. However, when asked about tokenized Pokémon cards purchased online, Gensler did not provide a definitive answer. Representative Ritchie Torres criticized Gensler's responses, calling them "incoherent" and accusing him of having a bias against blockchain technology
