PANews news on October 15, according to News1, data from the South Korean Financial Supervisory Institute shows that from 2018 to June 2023, 24,451 financial criminals were punished for violating finance-related laws such as the Specified Financial Transaction Information Act, the Electronic Financial Transactions Act, and the Financial Real-Name Act. As of March 2023, there were 46,409 illegal virtual asset transactions through credit card companies, and this year's figure is expected to significantly exceed last year, requiring special management. It is reported that in 2019 the data was 15,820, in 2020 it was 435,300 and in 2022 it was 57,203.
