U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Gary Gensler remained silent when asked by reporters today if the industry would see spot bitcoin ETFs soon, Gensler said he would not "pre-judge" the matter, and he previously said that the agency's review process is a "time-tested process".


In his speech on Wednesday, Gensler reiterated his position that Bitcoin is seen as a commodity, while expressing concerns about the crypto industry as a whole.
