Threatened to take over KyberSwap, the "toughest" hacker message in crypto history

This is probably the hardest hacking message in crypto history.

At 7 a.m. on November 23, KyberSwap, a DEX aggregator and liquidity platform, was suspected of being attacked with $47 million in funds. At 12 noon on November 30, the KyberSwap attackers issued settlement conditions on the chain, including full enforcement control of Kyber, access to KyberDAO's governance mechanism to implement legislative changes, requiring Kyber to hand over all on-chain and off-chain assets, etc.

The core demand of the hackers is to have full control of Kyber and ownership of KyberDAO. In addition, all documents and information related to the company, the formation, structure, operations, revenue, profits, expenses, assets, liabilities, investors, salaries, etc. It also requires the original project team to give up all Kyber assets, including on-chain and off-chain assets. The scope includes, but is not limited to, shares, interests, tokens (KNC and non-KNC), partnerships, blogs, websites, servers, passwords, code, social channels, and all of Kyber's creative and intellectual property.

If his demands are met, Kyber will be sold at a fair valuation, employees will be paid double under the new company structure, and existing employees will be terminated with 12 months of paid termination if they choose to leave the company, with full benefits and help finding a new job. While the assets of token holders and investors will appreciate in value, liquidity providers will receive rebates for recent market-making activities.

The hacker claims that under his management, Kyber will be completely reinvented and no longer the seventh-ranked DEX, but a completely new cryptography project. The last hacker in the message was signed "Kyber Director".

What the community thinks of this message

Rotkiapp founder Lefteris Karapetsas@LefterisJP circled the word "shares" in the hacker's message, saying, "In order to complete the share transfer, we need full names, physical addresses, etc., so that the transfer can be done through a notary public." 」

Now, the world wants to know more than who Satoshi Nakamoto is, but who the hacker who attacked Kyber and left this text behind. Many people believe that hackers will be easily recognizable by leaving such a long piece of text, such as the writing style of the message, word choice and spelling that can be cross-referenced.

Regarding the idea of hackers wanting to take control of Kyber and transform Kyber into a new company, community users said, "I've never seen a hacker in this world who wants to be a CEO."

Ethereum developer @pcaversaccio says this is an unprecedented case in the black hat world. Community user @0xngmi commented that he didn't know how all of the Kyber hacker's demands would be met, and that even if the settlement was successful, "who would want to use the protocol managed by the hacker?"

The hacker concludes his message by saying, "Kyber is one of the oldest and longest-running DeFi protocols. No one wants to see it collapse." As a result, many community users speculate that the hacker may have been someone who had worked on the KyberSwap team or someone who had close contact with KyberSwap.

How will KyberSwap respond to the hackers, and where will the protocol go?
