Wylie Aronow dismisses return rumors at Yuga Labs

Wylie Aronow, the co-founder of the Bored Ape Yacht Club, addressed rumors about his potential return to a leadership role in Yuga Labs and shared his confidence in the current leadership team

Aronow acknowledged the public’s interest in his comeback but emphasized his ongoing health challenges, which have led to fluctuating levels of involvement in the company’s operations.

Aronow detailed his health journey, highlighting the severity of his condition, which included emergency medical situations. Despite steady progress, the Bored Ape Yacht Club co-founder expressed that his health remains a priority, precluding him from resuming even part-time work responsibilities.

Aronow previously experienced heart failure and colitis, which compelled him to step down from his role. In December last year, Yuga Labs appointed Daniel Alegre as the CEO. Alegre faced severe challenges immediately after joining the company, as the NFT providers saw a $63 million loss this year due to Blur’s no-royalty model

In his tweet, Aronow reflected on Yuga Labs’ trajectory during his absence, noting positive developments and areas of concern. In the last board meeting, he addressed key issues that he believes have been impeding the company’s progress. This intervention, he suggests, has rejuvenated confidence in the leadership and across all Yuga brands.
