Investment banks: The European Central Bank is expected to clarify its intention to cut interest rates in June

Sina Financial News Danske Bank analysts expect that the key content of today's ECB meeting will be to confirm a mainstream narrative that the ECB will cut interest rates in June. While this meeting may be seen as a transition meeting with limited market reaction, the ECB is expected to make a clear commitment to a rate cut in June in the form of clear guidance on the intention to cut rates by 25 basis points in June. Analysts do not expect any guidance on the pace of rate cuts or the end of the tightening cycle. Analysts believe the baseline scenario of three 25bp rate cuts this year still holds, but risks tend to be fewer than the baseline scenario due to the stickiness of underlying inflation.
