⚡️ Circle is laying the groundwork for its new blockchain Arc, announcing the acquisition of Malachite — a consensus engine developed by Informal Systems.
This engine will become a key element of the new blockchain.
Malachite is based on the Tendermint algorithm, which is considered the "gold standard" in the WEB3 ecosystem due to its speed and reliability. Tendermint is used in projects like Cosmos (ATOM), as well as in dozens of others.
Some employees of Informal Systems will join the Circle team. The financial terms of the deal are not disclosed.
