On December 7, the Gate Group teams organized an educational seminar with scholarship awards for university students in Jambi, Indonesia. The event allowed attending students, most of whom study business and economics, to receive insights into the Web3 and blockchain industry. Additionally, ten students received scholarships donated by Gate.io.
Over 100 students from the Faculty of Islamic Economy & Business at UIN Jambi University attended, where many young students are preparing for careers or further studies related to economics, finance, business, and potentially blockchain.
Gate.io representative M. Tarmizi delivered an insightful presentation titled “Web 3: A New Era of Digital Possibilities” to provide an introduction to blockchain and Web3 while exploring the current and future use cases and potential. As many attendees were unfamiliar with blockchain, the students were able to develop a clearer picture of the Web3 sector and its related technologies, introducing them to new potential career and education paths.
After the presentation, the students received answers to their questions regarding Web3, blockchain, and decentralized technologies before a closing scholarship distribution ceremony was held. Five students with outstanding academic performance and another five experiencing financial hardship were provided scholarships by Gate.io to help with the study-related costs.
This event was held as part of an ongoing commitment from Gate.io to spread blockchain education and awareness around the globe. Similar educational events have been held in academic institutions across regions from nearly every continent. Additionally, Gate Charity, the non-profit philanthropic foundation of Gate Group, has several ongoing charitable initiatives to uplift underprivileged communities in and around Jambi.
